THE MORE THE BETTER!)
Corey of Underground Photography
In commemoration of the unfortunate death of fifteen year old Lawrence "Larry" King, Corey of Underground Photography has started Project Valentine.
Project Valentine is a video project compiled of valentines to Larry, the young boy who was shot on February 13, 2008 by a boy that Lawrence "Larry" had asked the day before to be his valentine.
Corey wants to get as many pictures as possible of individuals across the world to be their valentine.
Submit a picture in a myspace message to Corey of Underground Photography or email the picture to Corey (Jerseystyle0522@yahoo. com) with the Subject: Project Valentine.
Or, reply to this entry and I will pass it on to Corey myself.
The Valentine needs to read: "Dear Lawrence (or Larry), Will you be my Valentine?", it needs to be legible and it needs to be on a picture of you. Please be sure not to use a web cam or cell phone photo as the photo will be too small and Corey will not be able to use them. It is encouraged that each Valentine is unique.
Corey's plans are to submit the video to The Ellen Degeneres Show.
Do you remember the last time you were escorted out of a public restroom just because someone reported you?
Do you remember the last time you let go of your lovers hand in public because someone looked at you in a threatening way?
Do you remember when you were affraid to come out in fear of what others may have thought of you?
Do you remember the last time you were fired, or didn't get hired by an employer just because of the way you looked, or based upon your sexuality?
Do you remember how many friends and family members you lost when you came out?
Do you remember the last time you feared for your life in public because of your appearance or sexuality?
Do you remember the first time you were told you were going to hell just because of who you are?
Do you remember the last time someone at your job told you that you weren't going to get promoted because of your sexuality?
Do you remember the first time you were a victim of a hate crime, and no one would do anything about it?
This is when I decided I wanted to help others out who were going through, or experiencing the same things I have already experienced and so much more.
But do you remember the day you were shot, just because you were being you? No? Larry does, and now you can help raise awareness for yourself, Larry and many others, by participating in PROJECT VALENTINE
